Maybe jet lag

It has now been a few days since my return from probably the biggest trip of my life yet. In short I came back from Ethiopia where I have not been in about 20 years. I've also squeezed in a trip to Germany and Seattle on my way back home. Now back I am faced with many news...life changing news. One of them an upcoming layoff from work. In fact this news was brought to me the first day back at work (in the morning, even before getting to the office) and it has yet to settle in my mind. I assume it takes time. But I don't want to talk to anyone about this yet.

Today, I even summoned some sort of comprehension, and perhaps it's even settling in in fact, of what is going to happen that I googled " being laid off at 24". Alas, I found a nice nice article (now following the author's blog). Ironically the blogger is a traveler. See the connection between my travels and layoff and more travels? I don't know it's almost 1AM and I'm still up. Is it jet lag or I'm still processing the news. In any case, presumably I have 3 months to figure it all out - not sure I even remember how to apply for jobs (not that I was a pro, but I was proactive before - hope can find that productivity in me again...).

This is the first time I am able to talk the situation out. Sort of surprised with myself to be honest. Anyway, guess that's it for now. Not going to push my luck at being able to write in general...it's been a while. Oh yes, Christmas is around the corner. Maybe I will ask Santa (i.e. myself to get me a new laptop), of course after making sure the bills are payed. Not to end on a sour note below is a picture from my travels
