Blog Action Day 2010

Since yesterday a dear friend of mine from I am Timeless blog, has been encouraging readers to  participate in the Blog Action Day 2010. To particularly talk about the importance of a very essential element in everyone's daily life. Unfortunately these days it has become a sheer luxury for a very significant number of earth's population; statistically speaking to a staggering 1 billion of humans around the world. And the world population number is currently estimated at 6.8 billion! Let's talk about this element then more, since it's obviously important to the humankind.

We use it in the mornings , we use it at night (if that is the second time we are fortunate to do so or sometimes first), we can buy at the shop or it can be delivered to our homes (if we are fortunate enough to do so), and we (the 5 billion of us on  this earth) can use it daily often clean and not risk our lives while trying to just get a hold of some of it.

I am talking about WATER
Original picture; processed for the blog.

Sadly, I myself am guilty of being wasteful of water on a weekly basis. Predominantly the consumption, or should I say "incomplete consumption" ( due to the collection of half empty bottles in my room) of it and the overall pollution that it brings to our planet. I have yet to come up with a proper solution for my household's purchasing of bottled water as an alternative to tap or filtered water, due to a saddening report on dumping of pharmaceutical waste into our nation's water-streams.  A very disturbing report which came out about a year ago.

Please take the time to read my friend's post on her blog about the prevalence of water in our lives and around the world. You can click here to redirect to her post
